DIY // Custom Grapevine Wreath

Here is a great wreath idea for the gal on a budget (ME!!!!!! and maybe you too?). This interchangeable wreath can hang all year long and can fit every season with just a few small tweaks.

Supplies:

-Grapevine wreath (got this one at AC Moore for $4.99)

-Cardboard letter: last-name initial ($2.99 at AC Moore)

-Floral styrofoam block (AC Moore sells 6-packs for $3.99. Individually they are $3.49 *makes perfect sense, right?* So I just got the 6-pack. I ended up using about 1 1/2 blocks)

-Floral wire, thread, yarn, string, etc.

-Flowers of choice

-Scissors

-Knife

-Glue gun (optional)

Step ONE:

Gently cut around the perimeter of your letter until the top layer is off. Remove cardboard stuffing.

Step TWO:

Cut two small holes in the corners of your letter (or wherever they will touch the wreath). Using your wire/string/yarn/etc., tie the corners of the letter to the wreath.

I simply wrapped the wire a few times in each corner and it is nice and secure.

Step THREE:

Cut your styrofoam block in half so that it is thinner than your cardboard letter.

Step FOUR:

Using your knife, slices pieces of the halved styrofoam block to fill the cardboard letter. If you'd like, you can use a hot glue gun to secure the styrofoam to the letter. I skipped this step and haven't had any issues.

Step FIVE:

Fill with flowers and decorate as you please!

I originally made a fall wreath since I was super excited to find these pretty fall florals for HALF OFF at AC Moore (I think they are still on sale!) But since summer is *technically* not over ...

I decided to switch it out for a brighter look until next month :)

And that's it! A year-round wreath that can work for any season by simply changing the flowers/"filling." I'm thinking holly/berries at Christmastime, tulips in the spring, these daisies back in the summer and mums/leaves/pumpkins for fall. It's completely up to you! And since we called this a "budget" wreath, I'll give you the breakdown:

   -wreath ($4.99, with 40% off coupon so $3)

   -cardboard letter ($2.99)

   -flowers ($6 total - two mum stems, one pumpkin leaf stem, and daisies all part of the 50% off sale. I 

    already had the purple flowers and butterfly)

   -floral wire ($2)

   -styrofoam ($3.99 with 40% off coupon so $2.40)

   = $16.40 for SUMMER AND FALL! I just need winter and spring "accessories"
